Famine Experience
Children and youth ages 3-18 participated in a 4 hour famine experience.  Older youth fasted, while the younger children participated in praising God, learning about world hunger and what they could do to help.  There was a time for singing praises, a time for crafts, a time for games and a time to challenge their knowledge of the Bible.  This was the church's 27th year participating in the World Vision famine and so far they have raised over $34,000.  A special thank you to the 16 adults who helped make this experience possible.

Sunday School Easter Program performed on March 24, 2024
The Moravian Band started the program with a rendition of "Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail".  The children and youth recited The Lord's Prayer followed by the singing of "Above All" and then returned later to close the program with the singing of "I Lift Your Name on High".
Folks of all ages get involved in the program.  This skit was called, Celebrating Lint.  One character rolled lint off of each of the youth, as he thought they were observing forty days of lint.  His fellow actor explained it was Forty Days of Lent.  They decided the roller removed our lint,
but through Jesus' dying on the cross he removed our sins.
The Sunday School Youth performed the skit, E-Bunny.  In the local Walmart store the Easter Bunny
welcomed and provided assistance to shoppers locating Easter grass, eggs and candy.  Three of his school classmates recognized their friend in his bunny suit and a discussion continued on the real reason of celebrating Easter.  Of course, the Easter Bunny hadn't a clue.  His friends pointed out no one has been
saved by buying Easter grass in Aisle 4 and that the celebration of Easter is because Jesus died on the cross taking upon himself all our sins, and rising from the dead, we as believers have eternal life.
The Easter Bunny agreed to meet his friends after he finished
working to learn more about the true meaning of Easter.

Sunday School Easter Egg Hunt Activities, Saturday, March 23, 2024
Can you balance an egg on a spoon as you walk through traffic cones.  These children can!
The children were all busy making cross necklaces.
The Easter Egg Hunt was enjoyed by the children and the youth.
The rain did not stop them from seeking out eggs within the church facility.
Children and children at heart enjoyed posing with The Easter Bunny!
Everyone had a wonderful time at the Sunday School Egg Hunt.

Children gather in the church each Sunday morning at 9:15.
After a brief time of sharing, singing and prayer, children move
to their Sunday School classrooms.

World Famine

Friday, February 23 we held our 27th annual famine event to raise money for World Vision.  We had a very diverse group with 19 children and youth ranging in age from 2 years old to18 years old.
Due to having young children we did not do the typical 30 hour fasting event.
We had a Bible story, shared hunger facts with the group, had a trust activity,
a time of sharing our fears, as well as, craft time and snacks.
Our focus was trusting God as we work to help others.
So far the youth have raised $630.00 to go to World Vision to help support
their efforts to feed hungry people around the world.
